I really, really like the perspective Greg Knauss lends to the notion of a “weblog candidate” for the U.S. House of Representatives. If you’ve been following the candidacy of Tara Sue Grubb at all, the essay is worth a read.

(Oh, and you must read the comments at the end.)

But, OK, “Winer bad!” fits, too.

I thought the strange thing was that Tara Sue didn’t make one comment at all, but Dave Winer made dozens. Where is the “weblog candidate” if she’s not campaigning in the trenches of other people’s comments? :)

James, here’s a theory — maybe she’s doing more important things. Knauss and the people who read his site aren’t likely to vote in North Carolina, if they were, I would have sent Tara a pointer and suggested she participate. BTW, I didn’t post dozens on his site. Your counter has a bug.

I see. There are two different groups: those who have important things to do, and those who worry about what people say about them on the net.
