The 2003 SXSW blog is up and running, thanks to PB and Matt. It appears to be running on the MetaFilter codebase, which is another great demonstration of the versatility of Matt’s work. (And of course, as a former Texan, I love the Shiner Bock theme of the sidebar.) A reminder, though; for those planning to go to next year’s SXSW, this Friday is the deadline for the current registration rates, which will go up by between $20 and $75 on Saturday.

Hello,
I heard on the radio that today ws the last day to register for sxsw at Rubys between 6 and midnight. My son has a band and I have told him to go enter today. I think they are talented.
Anyway, we do not know how this all works and what all it entails when a band is entered.
Could you send me back some info? I understand the contest is in March. I assume the band is given a certain date and time to play etc. Thanks, Julie

Shut UP! First I find out you’re a Columbia alum, and now I find out you’re a Texan? Beautiful… (me too, btw — Texan/CC alum, not necessarily beautiful). Have a great time at SXSW — my dad’s band, Paradise 817, played there many moons ago, & I think it was the best time he ever had.
